Join Executive Director and Curator Alana Hernandez and artist Victoria Martínez for a conversation on Zoom as part of CALA Presenta > Charlas, a series of conversations that highlight Contemporary U.S. Latinx and Latin American artists. The conversation series give viewers the opportunity to remotely visit artists’ studios and hear more about their practice. Featuring artists that span geographic locations in and outside of the United States, CALA Presenta > Charlas are presented monthly via Zoom.
Victoria Martínez is an interdisciplinary artist who explores fiber-based projects including painting and installation art. She received a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2010 and recently graduated from Yale University School of Art in 2020. Martínez has exhibited nationally and internationally including the Yale University Art Gallery and the National Museum of Mexican Art, and her work has been critically appraised in Poetry Foundation Magazine and The University of Chicago Press. Upcoming projects include solo exhibitions at the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles, Tiger Strikes Asteroid in Chicago, and an art feature in New American Paintings.
