Open Call: Regional Resident: Summer/Fall 2025
CALA Alliance is now accepting applications for its next Regional Resident Artist. The selected artist (2) will be in residence with CALA Alliance for three months, for Summer or Fall 2025. Following the residency, the artist will present a solo exhibition at one of our partner organizations in the region.
This residency offers a $4,000 material stipend, a $4,000 honorarium, and a dedicated studio space, providing substantial support for the development of innovative projects.
CALA Alliance is dedicated to supporting conceptually and formally challenging work. The residency program is designed to nurture innovative artists at pivotal moments in their careers, offering resources and opportunities to develop ambitious new projects.
Applications will be evaluated by a panel of curators and cultural professionals based on the following criteria:
Impact: The applicant demonstrates a readiness to explore new creative and professional approaches, taking risks and expanding their current methods. The proposal highlights the significance of this residency as a critical moment for the artist’s project development.
Artistic Strength: The applicant exhibits a clear vision, originality, and artistic excellence. There is a strong engagement with the proposed project, with a well-defined plan for its execution and expected outcomes.
Cultural Competency: The applicant shows cultural awareness and a commitment to producing innovative, equity-centered projects. The proposed project should foster artistic exchange and dialogue within the Metro-Arizona landscape, with a clearly defined audience and community engagement plan.
